Development of mental capabilities in older school age depending on school requirements, family conditions and leisure activity fields. Topics: Goals in life; moral orientations; interest in politics; attitudes to socialism and the GDR; models; achievement readiness in instruction and social evaluation; self-image of personal capabilities; interest in individual school subjects; evaluation of one's own capabilities and achievement status; achievement effort; achievement demands in individual subjects; attitude to school and achievement demands; social contacts; evaluation of school achievements and behavior by the teacher; evaluation of personal strengths; participation in support measures; success achieved; activity outside of instruction; occupation concepts; evaluation of personal prerequisites for desired occupation; motives for desired occupation; knowledge and extent to which informed about the occupation; planned path of education; problems and help in choice of occupation; expectations of youth; intents on personal structuring of life; action orientations; extent of leisure time and leisure interests; media usage and expectations of them; possession of modern home electronics; attending cultural facilities; active and passive cultural interests; preferred genres in music, literature and film; family relations; family climate; acceptance of parental advice; parental acceptance of personal conduct; child-raising style of parents; physical and psychological condition; psychosomatic characteristics; conduct particularities; use of semi-luxury foods, tobacco and alcohol; school achievements; test values in intelligence and achievement tests.
Note
The first to third wave of the "Schoolchildren Interval Study Capabilities - Older cohort" are archived under ZA Study Nos. 6122 and 6124 and the fifth and sixth wave under ZA Study Nos. 6126 to 6127. The Interval Study was continued after 1990 in the project "Access to Occupation and Course of Occupation Biographies of Young People in the East of Germany". These waves have ZA Study Nos. 6184 to 6186. Furthermore the "Schoolchildren Interval Study Capabilities - Older Cohort" was conducted in parallel in a younger cohort (ZA Study Nos. 6117 to 6121 and 6180 to 6183).
