  • Abstract

    This data set stems from the first study of the ValCom2 Project. The project examines the formation of Value and Competence beliefs in adulthood. We used an experimental survey design and randomized participants to one of two conditions (project management courses with verbal or mathematical content). The questionnaire consisted of questions regarding demographics, school-specific and study-specific self-concept of ability, school-specific and study-specific motivation (intrinsic task value, self-concept of ability, effort), Motivation regarding the project management course, prior knowledge of study programs and project management course, need for cognition as well as perceived similarity between school subjects and study programs and the project management course.
