Abstract
The "LISA 6" study is the sixth survey of the "LISA - Reading in Secondary Education" study. The original focus of the study was on reading comprehension and motivation to read as well as the design of school learning environments. Starting in grade 8 ("Lisa 3"), reading and listening comprehension in the first foreign language English was also taken into account. Up to and including Year 11 ("LISA 5"), school forms of the general education system (Haupt-, Real-, Gesamtschule and Gymnasium / Secondary school, Comprehensive school and High school) were considered in LISA. With "LISA 6", the focus of the study was significantly broadened. In addition to the remaining LISA students from the general education system (95 percent of them went at grammar schools), students at vocational grammar schools were examined. Firstly, "LISA 6" looked at achievements immediately before reaching university entrance. The following were taken into account: mathematical performance, scientific skills, reading, listening and comprehension in the first foreign language English, reading in a traffic language and job-related skills. "LISA 6" focused on a description of high school graduates at general education and vocational high schools in Schleswig-Holstein (e.g. past school careers, social background, learning-relevant characteristics of the parental home) as well as on perspectives for the time after high school (e.g. taking up vocational training or studies).
