Abstract
In the KAT-HS project, the challenges arising from the Bologna reform for testing in higher education were scientifically addressed. Criteria-oriented computerised adaptive testing was developed conceptually as a method for the construction, administration and evaluation of university examinations, tested in exemplary fashion in university teaching, evaluated on the basis of feedback from various stakeholder groups (students, lecturers, deans of studies, IT managers) and examined for obstacles to successful implementation. In addition, various supporting elements such as a training event, an online portal for the mutual exchange of users of the concept and a freely available test software were developed and tested with regard to their effectiveness. In summary, the project has made an empirically tested, innovative method for computer-based measurement of competences available for broad use at German universities.
