    Pre-professional and professional career, conflicts at work and further education activities of female physiotherapists. Topics: School-leaving date; graduation; profession desired before the start of studies; reasons for taking up studies and most important criteria for the choice of profession; date of start of studies at the school of physiotherapy; evaluation of training; type of professional activities after graduation; hours of work; activities abroad; work carried out in salaried employment or free-lance, as well as advantages of each; number of employees; vacation time; participation in further education courses and attitude to professional further education; reading of technical journals; job satisfaction (scale); estimation of the professional prestige of physiotherapists; qualification profile of this profession; number and type of individual or group treatments; conflicts with related occupational groups; estimated proportion of psychological causes for illness; success ratio of physiotherapy treatments; relations with patients; expected income; reference groups in the profession; tasks of a professional organization for physiotherapists; present and former membership as well as type of membership in professional organization. Also encoded were: whether the respondent waived anonymity on return of the questionnaire as well as date of return. Demography: age (classified); marital status; number of children; age and number of siblings; religious denomination; school education; employment; income; social origins; regional origins.

Sampled Universe
Graduates at the schools for physiotherapy in Cologne (110 cases) and Freiburg (81 cases) who passed their exams after 1955. In addition 30 students in the 1st and 3rd terms at the school for physiotherapy in Cologne were interviewed.
