    Views on various countries, judgement on American and Soviet policies as well as the USA image of the Germans. Topics: Most important problems of the FRG; attitude to England, France, Sweden, Netherlands, China, America and the Soviet Union; desired political orientation of the FRG; judgement on Soviet foreign policy, the peace efforts of the superpowers, the danger of war and the general successes of the western powers and the communist powers; attitude to American or Soviet aid for Africa and to extension of Trade with the East; attitude to unification of Europe, atomic energy and nuclear weapons tests; judgement on disarmament efforts; attitude to conflicts in the earlier possessions of England, France and the Netherlands; attitude to socialism, communism and capitalism (scale); desired agreement of the economic system of the FRG with that of the USA; judgement on the term ´capitalism for everyone´ and various areas of American life; knowledge about the race problems in the USA and their effects on the image of America; party preference; membership in a trade union. Demography: age (classified); sex; marital status; school education; occupation; household income; head of household; state. Interviewer rating: social class and willingness of respondent to cooperate; number of contact attempts. Also encoded was: identification of interviewer; age of interviewer and sex of interviewer; city size.
