    Judgement on the political situation of Berlin as well as attitude to economic development and research. Topics: Attitude to the political development in West Berlin; judgement on the situation of Berlin; ties to Berlin; satisfaction with the policies of Federal Chancellor Erhard and Brandt; assumed interest of the western powers in the situation in Berlin and attitude to the recommendations of the Soviet Union to solve the Berlin question; visits in the east sector of the city and assumed lengthening of the pass agreement; political interest and political participation; understanding of democracy; attitude to the socially-oriented market economy; judgement on the price development and effects of automation; attitude to government expenditures for military research; judgement on the technical status of German industrial production and attitude to government expenditures to promote technical progress; judgement on the number of students; consumer habits; savings habits; vacation trips; personal opinion leadership in political and economic questions; media usage; self-assessment of social class affiliation; religiousness; party preference; date of interview. Demography: age (classified); sex; marital status; number of children; religious denomination; school education; vocational training; professional position; employment; income; household income; size of household; composition of household; head of household; regional origins; refugee status.

Sampled Universe
Persons 14 years old and older were interviewed.
Several samples were drawn according to different procedures. A part of the respondents was determined according to the quota procedure, another part according to a random selection.

A split questionnaire was used with slight variations of the answer categories with some closed questions. For 583 respondents this survey was the second wave of a partial three-wave panel survey (see ZA Study Nos. 0382 to 0392 and 0535 to 0537). Of those supplementally interviewed a part was selected according to the quota procedure and a part according to the random procedure (due to methodological interest of the principal investigator).
