    Voting behaviour in the referendum on the Stability Treaty in Ireland. Topics: participation in the referendum on the Stability Treaty; voting decision; reasons for voting in favour or against the Stability Treaty; reasons for not voting; self-rated understanding of the issues the referendum was about; impact of the result of the referendum on Ireland’s economic prospects; own economic situation at present; assessment of Ireland’s membership in the EU as a good thing; used sources of information before the referendum; knowledge test on the European Union: currently consisting of 15 member states, Switzerland is a member of the EU, direct election of the members of the European Parliament by the citizens of each member state; voting behaviour in the second referendum on the Lisbon treaty in October 2009. Demography: age; sex; nationality; age at end of education; respondent is chief income earner of the household; occupation; social grade; occupation and social grade of chief income earner (occupation recoded); region; type of community; own a mobile phone and fixed (landline) phone; household composition and household size. Additionally coded was: type of phone line; weighting factor.
