    Attitude to the future and expected political, social and technical development until the year 2000. Topics: General attitudes to the future and personal contemplation about the future; judgement on the development of the quality of life in relation to one´s own person, the country and the entire world; perception of distance and expected developments until the year 2000 in the areas of unemployment, work satisfaction, general contentment with life, leisure time, happiness, development of society, drug abuse, the fight against cancer, space travel, the securing of peace, disarmament, the economic system, race problems, industrial countries in comparison to the underdeveloped countries, international relations and science; readiness for innovation; recommendations for conduct in Ostpolitik; membership in clubs, a party or trade union; attitude to co-determination and the economic system; party preference; political participation and political extent to which informed; knowledge about the member nations of NATO and in the Warsaw Pact; position in sibling sequence; local residency; interest in emigration; desire for children; satisfaction with income; attitude to foreigners. Scales: optimism-pessimism scale after Cantril, flexibility of attitudes (Galtung), feelings of alienation (Campbell), dogmatism (Rokeach Scale). Demography: age (classified); sex; marital status; age and number of siblings; religious denomination; religiousness; school education; vocational training; occupation; income; household income; size of household; head of household; social origins; city size; state; regional origins.
