AbstractPolitical participation of persons affected by city renovation in Cologne, Oberhausen and Wuppertal. Topics: Political interest and interest in the renovation; primary source of information about renovation measures; communication in social surroundings about the renovation; personal impact from renovation measures by demolition or renovation of the building; judgement on the current status of renovation recommendations; attitude to protest events against the renovation measures; personal participation in protest events; type of needs to be considered in city renovations; naming the political group that currently has decision-making function in the renovation and should have it in the ideal case; judgement on the conduct of organizations in the renovation; local residency. Scales: Attitude to political participation, political alienation, passive participation in politics, individual political activity and political commitment. Demography: Memberships and functions and offices taken on; age; sex; marital status; religious denomination; school education; vocational training; occupation; employment; household income; head of household; self-assessment of social class; social origins; present and past offices held.
