Questions on playing habits with gambling machines: frequency, duration and place of playing with slot machines with possibility of winning; level of last wagered sum of money as well as amount won or lost; information on earlier playing habits; monthly financial expenditures in leisure time altogether. 2. Questions on the situation in the job market: judgement on securing of jobs in the area; assessment of the certainty of one´s own job; judgement on the effects of computer technology on one´s own situation in the job market as well as on personal workplace; attitude to flexible working hours and an occupational pause; maximum reasonable time for the commute to work; regional mobility; workplace out of town and distance to place of residence; means of transport used and length of daily trip to work; professional career prospects; influence of newer technologies on the creation of new jobs or unemployment; local residency; greatest loss at moving away from residential area. With unemployed: interest in part-time employment or full-time position; reasonable distance and duration of commute to nearest place of work; regional mobility. 3. Questions on large-scale technology: associations with the word ´technology´; preferred areas of use of government support funds: scale on nuclear power plants, missile stationing, census and speed limit on streets; attitude to technical progress (scale); technical interest and self-assessment of technical knowledge; sources of information about technology used; attitude to nuclear energy (scales); postmaterialism index; most important political goals in the Federal Republic. 4. ZUMA standard demography: age; sex; marital status; religious denomination; religiousness; frequency of church attendance; school education; occupational training; occupation; occupational position; area of business of company; income; household size; household composition; respondent is head of household; characteristics of head of household; voting behavior at the last state parliament election; self-assessment of social class; possession of telephone. Interviewer rating: presence of third persons during interview and their intervention in survey; willingness of respondent to cooperate; reliability of responses; length of interview; date of interview. Also encoded were: sex of interviewer and age of interviewer.
