    Attitude to technical progress, the economy and the environment. Topics: most important environmental problems; associations with the term technology; self-assessment of technology knowledge; attitude to modern technology (scale); attitude to citizen objections against large-scale technical projects; attitude to a coal-fired power plant as well as a nuclear power plant in the vicinity of one´s own place of residence; expected development of environmental pollution at one´s place of residence; expected effects of technology on work and jobs; personal interest in technical means of information such as radio, television, BTX etc.; attitude to technical occupations; assumed jeopardy to one´s own job through technical innovations or rationalization measures; attitude to the effects of data technology, the computer and microelectronics on the working world; attitudes to news technology or entertainment electronics, technology in medicine and nuclear power plants (scales); general attitude to technology (scale); Demography: age; sex; marital status; number of children; ages of children (classified); school education; occupation; occupational position; employment; household income; composition of household; respondent is head of household; characteristics of head of household; employment in the civil service; party preference.

The current data set is part of an omnibus survey. The study presents a follow-up survey to the investigation ´Attitude to Technology´ conducted in 1980 and archived under ZA Study No. 1274. The questions posed in the investigation described here represent a subset of the first survey. A further study in this series is archived under ZA Study No. 1602.
