    Concepts of young married couples on integration of women in working life. Topics: Housing situation and satisfaction with residence; residence furnishing and desired furnishings for the next year; decision structure within the family; attitude to children; desired number of children; family planing and resultant plans for occupational life of the wife; child care; position in company and characterization of work; most important demands of work; a woman as superior; personal satisfaction with occupation and satisfaction of spouse with his occupation; discrimination of women in society; objective in occupation; willingness to make sacrifices for the occupation; attitude of spouse to this; occupation or family; work orientation of women; frequency of agreement of spouses in various areas of experience; characterization of a good wife and a good husband; attitude to sex-specific raising of children; pre-marital relations; characterization of current marital situation; importance of areas of life; living together before marriage; relationship with in-laws; social origins; number of siblings; employment of mother; distance to parents and frequency of contact; contact with difficulties in the marriage; year of marriage; naming circle of friends and acquaintances; characterization of ideal wife or ideal husband; designation of characteristics the spouse doesn´t have; perceived changes in respondent and spouse since marriage ceremony; disappointed expectations in marriage; sensitivity of spouse to mutual emotional life; most important reasons for marriage conflicts; strategies to manage conflict; possible reasons for divorce; priority for occupational further development for oneself or spouse; fatalistic attitude to life; distribution of tasks in household; satisfaction with division of labor in household; perceived deficits from employment of both spouses; club membership and interest in organizing; priority for leisure time or occupation; difference of opinions with spouse; favorite topics of conversation of spouse; interest of spouse in topics of conversation of the other; significance of religion in parental home and in one´s own family; wife´s disposition over her own bank account and funds; arrangement of financial matters in the marriage; financial disputes. Sampled Universe
Young married couples. Sample criteria were: both partners not self-employed, both partners in first marriage, both partners German citizens and without children, ´shotgun weddings´ were excluded, and the wife could not be older than 29. The marriage ceremony in the sample had taken place no more than three months earlier.

Note
In the complete project with a sample of initially 384 married couples three surveys were conducted 1 to 2 years apart. The spouses were interviewed by two interviewers simultaneously but independent of each other. The data set contains the data of the 446 respondents (223 couples) who took part in all three surveys. Part of the complete project are the ZA Study Nos. 1559 to 1561 for individual surveys as well as ZA Study No. 1562 for the panel data set. Different questionnaires were used for men and women dealing with identical content but taking into consideration the sex of the respondent in the question formulation.
