Demography: age; sex; marital status; religious denomination; school education; current occupation or occupation last exercised; occupational position; employment; employment in the civil service; monthly net income of respondent; monthly net household income; co-residents in residence or building; composition of household; size of household; respondent is person managing household; respondent is head of household; characteristics of head of household; possession of a telephone; memberships. Additionally encoded was: district code.

The current data set is part of an omnibus survey. The study presents a successor survey to the investigations ´Attitude to Technology´ conducted in 1980 and 1983 and archived under ZA Study Nos. 1274 and 1367. The questions posed in the investigations described here present a subset of the earlier surveys.
