    The social and economic situation of foreign workers in the Federal Republic. Topics: current and intended further length of stay in the FRG; place of birth in Germany; visits to native country in the last few years; planned vacation to native country this year; means of transport used for vacation to native country; family members in the FRG; number and ages of children from one´s own family living in Germany; size of household; number of family members working; family members living in native country as well as number and age of children living there; preference for orientation of education in school and employment on the requirements in Germany or the native country; greatest concerns and difficulties in the Federal Republic; job satisfaction; interest in German citizenship; party preference; monthly expenditures for food and everyday necessities; purchase place; price orientation or brand orientation. Demography: age; sex; length of time in school; school degree in native country or Germany; self-assessment of German language proficiency; length of completed vocational training; occupation; occupational position; employment; area of business of activity; monthly net income (classified); monthly household net income (classified); housing conditions; satisfaction with housing; increase in base rent or additional costs since 1985; monthly rent; car possession and brand; new or used car; number of kilometers driven annually. Interviewer rating: disturbances of course of interview; assessment of ability to communicate; willingness of respondent to cooperate; assessment of knowledge of national language as well as the German language; city size; state.
