    The role of the employment adviser. Topics: position in office; frequency of conducting selected employment adviser activities; importance of selected sub-duties for providing individual occupational advice and providing training; description of the professional image of employment adviser; most important principles of providing employment advice; job satisfaction; judgement on selected areas of focus at work regarding time expended and personal leeway; personal attitude to talking with those needing advice and personal effort for them; self-classification of knowledge about relevant regulations; frequency of contact with institutions outside of the employment office; knowledge about expectations of selected groups of persons and their satisfaction with activity of employment adviser; frequency of requests for advice on the part of those seeking advice, companies, teachers, students, colleagues and superiors; influence of expectations on one´s own daily work; professional or bureaucratic orientation of occupation of adviser; assessment of success of advice on external factors; unemployment rate in district of one´s own employment office; difficulties in arranging training positions; rate of applicants not receiving a training position; overview of occupational interconnections and environmental conditions; adequate number of employment advisers in employment office district and average wait for personal consultation; evaluation of organizational conditions in employment office; sources of information on occupations used; participation in further education measures and supervisions. The majority of the topics were asked in the form of scales.

Sample of employment advisers who were members of the German Association for Employment Advisers (dvb) in the three states mentioned. Beyond this non-members were also selected as a comparison group (115 respondents).
