    Attitude to energy corporations and to nuclear power. Judgement on the reactor accident in Chernobyl. Topics: most important political tasks; personal opinion leadership; sympathy scale for the Post Office, trade unions, oil companies, insurance companies, employer´s federations, electric companies, banks, home construction companies and the automobile industry; assumption of government or private power supply; specification by name of one´s own energy provider; general impression of the energy provider; perceived problems in the power supply in the FRG; assumed knowledge about power generation among persons of the same age; preferred and reasonable energy sources for future power supply; most important reasons for this preference; self-classification of knowledge about power generation; knowledge about the currently most important and in future desired energy sources in the Federal Republic; energy questions of particular interest; expected increase in use of energy in the FRG; most able and most believable institution or party or reporter on questions of energy policy; knowledge about the nuclear power plant accident in Chernobyl; extent of change in attitude to nuclear power plants due to this reactor accident; earlier and current attitude to nuclear power; trust in the safety of German nuclear power plants and assessment of the probability of such an accident in the Federal Republic; attitude to nuclear power plants and to the long-term or short-term shutting down of nuclear power plants (scale); willingness to pay increased power prices to replace nuclear energy; reduction of nuclear energy in the FRG, even with further operation of nuclear power plants in the other European countries; feeling of being personally affected by the reactor accident in Chernobyl and assessment of this feeling in the majority of the population; assessment of the credibility of an energy brochure depending on different editors; expected development of public interest in the nuclear energy discussion; age of children in the household; party preference and behavior at the polls in the last Federal Parliament election. To young people between the ages of 13 - 20 years the following additional questions were posed: attitudes to technology, to environmental protection and to the social system (scale); attitudes to NATO, to disarmament and to the achievement principle; feeling of political effectiveness. Also encoded was: identification of interviewer.
