Topics: most important problems of the state; intent to participate in the coming state parliament election; party preference (rank order and list procedure); party inclination and party identification; election participation in the last state parliament election; sympathy scale for the parties at federal and state level as well as for the top politicians in the state; satisfaction with the state government, the opposition and the Federal Government in Bonn; attitude to an absolute SPD majority in the state parliament election; preferred coalitions; preference for prime minister; comparison of credibility, energy, modernity and sense of responsibility of the top candidates Lafontaine and Toepfer; preference for Lafontaine as candidate for chancellor of the SPD; judgement on the economic situation in the state and in comparison with the entire Federal Republic; expected changes in the economic situation in the state; problem-solving ability of an SPD or CDU state government in questions of economy, environmental protection, the job market and the housing market as well as personal satisfaction with the current situation in these areas; job security; understanding for emigrants from the GDR; feared disadvantages in the job market as well as housing market through emigrants; residential status; city size; judgement on privileges for emigrants from the GDR; assumed taking seats in the state parliament by the FDP, the Greens as well as the Republicans and judgement on this; most active party supporters in the election campaign; significance of the state government for the future of the state; assumed election winner and probability of an absolute majority for the SPD; college degree; journeymen´s test; union membership; religiousness.
