Topics: interest in politics; party preference (Sunday question, ballot procedure and rank order procedure); behavior at the polls in the last Federal Parliament election; sympathy scale for the parties and for the top politicians; satisfaction with the political system in the Federal Republic; attitude to a possible absolute majority of the SPD or the CDU/CSU; preferred forming of a coalition; satisfaction with the achievement of the Federal Government altogether and its individual coalition partners as well as with the opposition (scale); preference for federal chancellor; assessment of the position of the FDP in the government coalition; most important political goals; issue competence of the parties and alternative coalition partners; attitude to recognition of the Oder-Neisse Line and to reunification of the two German nations; preferred alliance orientation of a reunited Germany; expected disadvantages from emigrants at work as well as in house-hunting; residential status; advantageousness of reunification for the West German population; attitude to the 35-hour work week and to further operation of nuclear power plants; necessity of American military forces for security in the Federal Republic and perceived threat from the Soviet Union; attitude to dissolution of the Warsaw Pact and NATO; judgement on the chances for a reformed communism and on the democratic intents of Gorbachev; preferred development of society (scale); classification of the parties and self-classification on a left-right continuum; postmaterialism; judgement on the relation of church and trade unions to politics; judgement on the relation of politicians to the citizens; assumed election winner in the next Federal Parliament election; attitude to an election success by the Republicans; fear of unemployment; national pride; union membership; religiousness; diploma or government examination; party inclination; district code; year of birth; month of birth.
