The data from the records of the censuses and further official statistics have been prepared such that a three-dimensional reference is held constant. Through this comparisons of area units over time are possible on an identical area basis, independent of administrative changes. The data are based on the times of survey of the census in 1950, 1961, 1970 and 1987.
