The data set described above is part of the project "Comparative Election Studies 1990", which is the German sub-project of the international project network "Comparative National Election Project (CNEP)". The data sets 2517 to 2522 have been archived on the German project. The project design anticipated a three-wave panel survey conducted both in the eastern part and in the western part of the Federal Republic. These surveys are largely identical and therefore consolidated in one data set. Besides this data set the written interviews with the so-called "primary respondents" (ZA Study No. 2517) were conducted at the same time to the extent possible. In the second survey wave besides a repeated spouse survey (ZA Study No. 2521) so-called political conversation spartners (ZA Study No. 2522) of the primary respondents as well as the primary respondents themselves (ZA Study No. 2518) were interviewed. The third wave consisted of a ballot survey among the primary respondents (ZA Study No. 2519). Part of this project are ZA Study Nos. 2656 and 2657 in which the coded recording of political articles in the media was surveyed.
