    Quality of life, use of transport means, environmental protection, and use of cultural institutions. Topics: Satisfaction with the apartment and the living environment; ownership structure of the inhabited property; number of square meters of the apartment; number of rooms; housing equipment; type of heating; modernizations carried out since 1992; monthly rent or charges; ancillary costs: costs for heating, hot water, gas, electricity, and garbage; modernisation levy; duration of residence; solidarity with the city and the district; logo of the city; personal ranking list of the communal tasks; preferred future image of the city; political interest (local and in general); interest in party activities; intention to vote; party preference; means of transport in the household; car use; kilometres travelled privately and professionally; current work area and work area at the time of the fall of the Berlin Wall; duration of the journey to work; distance from the place of work; place of employment; place of work at the time of the fall of the Berlin Wall; monthly costs for means of transport on the journey to and from work; means of transport for the journey to work; reasons why not using public transport on the way to work; choice of means of transport for shopping, work and leisure; attitudes towards reduction of car traffic and the use of alternative means of transport (scale); importance of selected living conditions, of municipal institutions and services; satisfaction with the importance of selected life goals, life principles, and value orientations (scale); interest in environmental protection; environmental nuisance; environmental awareness in the residential area (scale); satisfaction with waste disposal; source of information and information level on waste problems; use of cultural facilities of the city of Halle; use of cultural facilities and recreational facilities in the surrounding area; visits to socio-cultural centres; current use of cultural facilities and before the fall of communism; satisfaction with the cultural offers of municipal facilities and independent sponsorships; demand for the promotion of cultural offers; formative cultural-historical sights in Halle; sources of information about cultural events; cooperation in a socio-cultural centre; wish for artistic activity; evaluation of art in public space; frequency of visits of the city centre of Halle; use of public transport on the way to the city centre; satisfaction with what is on offer in the city centre; preferred location for shops and selected services; suggestions for improving Halle´s city centre. Sampling Procedure Comment: Simple disproportional random sample from the register of the residents´ registration office. In urban districts with low population numbers an increased number of cases was obtained.
