  • Abstract

    This data collection provides information on municipal expenditures, revenues, and characteristics of government and of the population for all incorporated cities of over 100,000 population in the United States in 1960. Variables also provide selected information on the 1960 presidential election, as well as information on employment, voluntary associations, income, and education.

Collection Mode
  • The data map is provided as an ASCII text file, and the codebook is provided by ICPSR as a Portable Document Format (PDF) file. The PDF file format was developed by Adobe Systems Incorporated and can be accessed using PDF reader software, such as the Adobe Acrobat Reader. Information on how to obtain a copy of the Acrobat Reader is provided on the ICPSR Web site.
