AbstractYoung people in clubs: motives and participation in club life. Knowledge about the DLRG. Topics: leisure budget on weekdays and weekends; most important leisure partners on weekdays and weekends; detailed information on earlier and current memberships in clubs and extent of participation in club events; social orientation pattern, willingness to adapt, personal responsibility, self-assertion and orientation in the future (scale); group affiliation and clique affiliation; person to confide in; membership of this confidant in a club in which the respondent is himself; judgement on the strictness of one´s own upbringing; duration of membership in individual clubs; membership reasons; family members or friends as club members and their sex; best friends as members in a club and meeting these friends through the club; functions exercised in the club; time budget expended for the club or association; most important advantages and disadvantages of club life; judgement on the relations between generations in the club; regularity of participation in club events and selected leisure activities; participation in delegate meetings and committee meetings at the local, state and federal level; club size at local level; relationship with local group of the club and significance of this club for respondent (scale); the significance of club life for respondent (scale); learning independence through club membership; attitude to marriage, partnership and sex rolls (scale as form to be filled out); fidelity in partnership and contraception as task of the woman; orientation in the future (scale); independence (scale).
