    This dataset contains a systematically selected subsample of 200 of the 3,498 persons who were interviewed for the 1979 Swedish Election Study, a survey which queried Swedes about their political attitudes, preferences and behavior.

  • Variables in this subsample differ somewhat from those in the original dataset: variable 283 and 284 have been excluded and variables 218-220, 260-262 and 265-268 have been recoded to fewer categories than in the original version of the survey data. Though a machine-readable codebook for the original complete dataset is available from ICPSR, access to the original dataset is possible only through the Swedish Social Science Data Service, Goeteborg University, Box 5048, S-402 21 Goeteborg, Sweden. Machine-readable documentation is in Swedish.
