    Quality of life and satisfaction in selected areas of life. Evaluation of financial, occupational and health situation. Topics: 1. housing situation: housing situation in primary residence; number of rooms; floor space in square meters; furnishing characteristics of the residence; residential status; satisfaction with one's residence and residential area; satisfaction with housing; satisfaction with public safety and the fight against crime in the country as well as sense of security in residential area (victimization probability); satisfaction with environmental protection in the country (scale); stress scale for noise, air pollution, lack of free nature, destruction of countrside and quality of drinking water; readiness for sacrifices in standard of living for the sake of environmental protection; openness to innovation; attitude to aid to those wanting to die (scale). 2. society: postmaterialism (Inglehart- scale); perceived conflicts between selected social groups; comparison of current personal living conditions with those at the time of unification in 1990 and the course of living conditions since 1990; characterization of personal situation in life: optimism/pessimism, work orientation, loneliness, fatalism; satisfaction with training (scale); self-classification of social class; memberships; current feeling of happiness; available leisure time; satisfaction with leisure time (scale); state of birth; length of living in Eastern Germany or in Western Germany. 3. household: detailed information on size of household and persons living in it (number of persons living in household; persons under 18 years in household; head of household); satisfaction with family life (scale); living together with a partner; employment of partner; reasons for partner's not being employed; occupational position of partner; marital satisfaction or satisfaction with partnership (scale). 4. social contacts: contact opportunities; possession and number of close friendships; frequency of contacts with friends. 5. occupation: detailed information on occupation (type of employment; weekly working hours; reasons for not being employed); satisfaction with role of housewife (scale); reasons for the job as housewife; difficulties in finding a suitable position; desire for employment; preference for a full-time position or part-time employment; looking for work or training vacancy in the last 12 months; year of last full-time employment; occupation; type of company; work in occupation learned; occupational position; work satisfaction (scale); importance of the areas of life occupation, leisure time and family (scale); desire for termination of employment; fear of unemployment or forced change of position; financial security in case of unemployment; expected difficulties in a hypothetical search for a new job; occupation of father. 6. financial and health situation: satisfaction with "net of social security" (scale); satisfaction with household income, standard of living and health (scale); things belonging to a desired standard of living and personal possession such things; availability of a specific sum of money for unexpected events and perceived opportunities to obtain a loan; self-assessment on a top-bottom scale; personal disability or need of care; regular use of medication; change of occupation for health reasons; psychological and physical health; satisfaction with church (scale). 7. future expectations: optimistic expectations of income development, development of job security, development of the cost of living, the environmental situation at place of residence, the development of professional career and the possibilities to exert political influence; optimistic future expectation for personal surroundings; assessment of the development of the standard of living; interest in politics; satisfaction with the opportunities of political activity and the democratic institutions in the country (scale); party inclination and party identification; party preference; assessment of the realization of democratic laws and political concepts in the FRG (scale); 8. society: trust in people; perceived fairness of social differences in the country; general satisfaction with life in the country; importance of areas of life; general contentment with life (scale); assessment of the importance of selected characteristics for social ties; general satisfaction with personal possibilities to take part in social life (scale); classification of current, future and past standard of living; classification of fair amount of level of standard of living claimed for the respondent as well as for the people in residential area of respondent and for his circle of friends; assessment of standard of living in the old as well as the new states as well as in Poland, France, Italy, Spain, Holland Switzerland and in Hungary. Demography: age (year of birth); sex; marital status; living together with a partner; citizenship; country of birth; school education; educational level; employment of respondent and his partner; occupation; occupational position; time worked each week; reasons for not being employed; income (gross and net); residential furnishings; religious denomination; frequency of church attendance. Interviewer rating: time at end of interview; type of building; living in a high-rise; type of city.
