Topics: Participation in elections and voting; party close to heart; satisfaction with political situation; left-right self placement (scale); trust in institutions and political leaders (Vaclav Havel (president)- Milos Zeman (CSSD leader)- Vaclav Klaus (ODS leader); participation in the Senate elections and the 1998 elections; trust in the Senator; current economic situation; voting decision in 1996 and 1998; satisfaction with democracy; voting decision concerning EU membership; advantages and disadvantages of the EU membership; believe in God; living standard of the household; region; size of the community.

The data set is part of the ´Party Preferences Czech Republic Series´. It was created by merging data from the monthly public opinion surveys in 2000. January 2000 1017 February 2000 1036 March 2000 1045 April 2000 1018 May 2000 1034 June 2000 1040 September 2000 1028 October 2000 998 November 2000 1051 December 2000 2079. Further merged data sets are archived under the ZA Study Nos. 3888 (1996), 3889 (1998), 3890 (1999) and 3892 (2001). Between 1990 and 2000 the surveys were carried out by the Institute for Public Opinion Research (Institut pro vyzkum verejneho mineni, IVVM; http://www.cvvm.cas.cz/), at the Federal Statistical Office (later Czech Statistical Office, http://www.czso.cz/). In 2000 the IVVM was abolished and the Center for Public Opinion Research (Centrum pro vyzkum verejneho mineni, CVVM) continued the program. CVVM is a department of the Institute of Sociology, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (http://www.soc.cas.cz). The original data sets are available at the Sociological Data Archive (SDA), Prague (http://archiv.soc.cas.cz/enindex.phtml).
