    Information and communication patterns as well as knowledge, attitudes and behaviour in connection with AIDS. Attitude towards AIDS education and attitude towards HIV-infected. Additionally coded: Year of interview; area of inquiry; federal state; weighting factor; different indices.

Sampling procedure by using computer generated random numbers extracted from phone numbers, followed by random selection of the person in the household. Persons questioned were 16 years and over, disproportionally stratified with an oversampling of the 16 to 44-year-olds
