    Process of differentiation of beneficiaries of the agrarian reform after the allocation of land in Palerco (Chile). Topics: manner of land acquisition; size of own land under cultivation; size of leased land; size of additionally leased land; total surface area; size of land under cultivation, irrigated, not under cultivation and yet to be used; income from leasing; expenditures for leasing; water rights; availability of electricity; type of water supply; type of sewage disposal; value of fencing, size of house; age, condition and value of house; value of all buildings as well as of machines and equipment; parents´ age and length of their schooling; parents´ ability to read and write; childrens´ average length of schooling; number of children living on one´s property; extent of work activities by father and children on one´s own land; pension or provision for old age; amount of subsidies; number of work days of family members off the property as well as the amount of income; number of work days of workers employed on one´s own land and the cost thereof; number of work days without productive activity; time of last participation by head of household in a course for further education; technical aid received; credit; area of productive surface for selected agricultural products; size of orchard, meadows and cultivated surface; proportion of cultivated surface to surface that could be cultivated; proportion of cultivated surface to total surface area; rotation of crops and sequence; use of seeds, fertilizer and disinfectants; relation of intermediate products to cultivated land; expenditures for harvest machinery; value of agricultural production; value of products sold; value of self-sufficiency; number of cultivated products; size of agricultural area for self-sufficiency; proportion of land for self-sufficiency to cultivated land; number of horses and number of animals; value of animals and livestock; number of cows for milking; length of milking period; level of milk production and amount of milk sold; value of production from livestock breeding; income from the sales of livestock; value of self-sufficiency with products from livestock breeding; amount of total expenditures for the farm land; earnings from part lease; negotiated debts; value of capitalized land, orchard, artificial meadows; amount of capital available and not available; total capital; number of work days per anum; gross income; total expenditures; income; balance surplus; membership and leadership position in a production community; wealth at the time of commencing farming; value of fundamental investments made. The respondents´ information on capital, working hours, gross income and expenditures as well as balance surplus are additionally put in relation to the size of the land (expressed in hectare equivalent) and to the size of the cultivated land. Additionally encoded was: place of the interview. Beyond this the data set contains the encoding of open questions on technical production knowledge and ability in the area of business management. The answers were given points between 1 (bad) and 10 (good).

The study presents the second wave of a two-wave panel investigation. In addition to the 57 respondents in the second wave the data set also contains another 53 cases from Sn. Vicente (Chile) as well as 61 cases from San Carlos (Chile). The first wave (Pelarco, 70 respondents) is archived under the ZA Study No. 5009.
