    Problems of small-scale enterprises in Dakar, Senegal. Issues: Part of town; kind and size of working place; size of ground and outlets/stalls; year of migration to Dakar; place of birth; reasons for leaving place of birth; ethnic origin; educators; occupational position; kind and duration of former employment; kind, duration and valuation of education and training; willingness to contribute to the expenses of supplementary training courses; membership in unions and associations; satisfaction with the functioning of these unions; willingness to cooperate with other small-scale enterprises; receipt of transfer payments in times of operational problems; workshop ownership and rental value; present size and ideal size of workshop as well as other commercial areas used; valuation of business location and infrastructure; number of owners or partners; number of apprentices and their average working hours per week; kinship relation to apprentices; apprenticesĀ“ costs; terms of payment and other services for apprentices such as provision of living space; total number and working conditions of employees; difficulties to hire labour; weekly working hours; raw materials used, origin and prices, supply; costs of services enlisted; acquisition of raw material on credit; period of working as self-employed businessman; information on initial capital and business start; weekly takings during starting phase; intended future acquisitions of equipment; costs, financing and consequences for number of staff; estimated value of equipment, means of transport, raw materials and produced goods; use of tools out of own or Senegalese production; kind of contacting customers and main customer groups; stock; difficulties concerning increase in production, sales and expansion of enterprise; weekly turnover; supplier functions and own suppliers; frequency of sales-losses; kind of book-keeping; development of production during the last two years; competition; weekly profit; receipt of bank or government loans and amount of loans; problems to get loans; use of credits and financial capacity of repayment; particulars regarding tax payment; monthly expenses for family and reproduction; additional income sources; registration.
