    National and European Identity. Health risk due to external influences. Electromagnetic fields. Topics: 1. National and European Identity: most important characteristics of a national identity and a European identity; personal importance of a European identity; national provenance of the respondent and his family; number of grandparents who were born in the country; types of personal connections with other countries; mother tongue; knowledge of other languages; intent to move to another country and preferred country (mobility); attachment to other countries; main reasons for attachment to other countries; level of attachment to the own city/ to the own region (split A), to the city/ to the region where the respondent lives (split b), to the country, and to the European Union; feeling of belonging to one of the majority groups or to one of the minority groups in the country, and assumed generally perception of people in the country; assumed reasons for this perception. 2. Electromagnetic fields and health (only in EU27): extent of the effect on health through: quality of the air outdoors and indoors, quality of drinking water and of the water in lakes and rivers, noise, waste management, quality of food, chemicals, exposure to sun, housing conditions, mobile phone handsets, mobile phone masts, electrical equipment in the household, computers, high tension power lines; knowledge of sources of electromagnetic fields; concern about the health risks of electromagnetic fields; informed about the potential health risks of electromagnetic fields; satisfaction with the received information about health risks linked to electromagnetic fields; main sources of information; reasons for dissatisfaction with the received information; preferred main sources of information about electromagnetic fields; effectiveness of public authorities in protecting from health risks linked to electromagnetic fields; kinds of possible intervention by the European Union in protecting from health risks linked to electromagnetic fields. Demography: nationality; age; marital status and family situation; age at end of education; sex; occupation; degree of urbanization; household composition and household size; own a mobile phone and fixed (landline) phone; possession of durable goods (entertainment electronics, internet connection, possession of a car, a flat/a house have finished paying for or still paying for); financial difficulties during the last year; self-rated social position (scale); internet use (at home, at work, at school). Also encoded was: date of interview; interview; persons present during the interview; willingness to cooperate; interview language; city size; region; country; weighting factor.
