To explore the role of attention bias on faces recognition for different social relations, 60 heterosexual participants were randomly recruited and they were asked to provide facial pictures of their lovers and friends. In the experimental phase, they were asked to select facial pictures of their lovers, friends and high and low attractive strangers, who were members of opposite sex. A visual search paradigm was used in the test for accomplishing experimental procedures. The results demonstrated that the respondents recognized the faces of their lovers with the highest accuracy rate (ACC) and the shortest reaction time (RT); the ACC on faces for recognition was significantly higher in women compared with men. We can thus presume that social relations have an effect on attention bias, the infatuated regardless of gender all showed attention bias for their lovers.
