Description
  • Abstract

The objective of this research is to investigate the factors influencing psychologists' open data badge adoption intentions. The target population of this research included faculty members and post-doctoral researchers in U.S. academic institutions who belong to psychology. The sampling frame of this research was identified from the scholar list in the Community of Science’s (CoS) Scholar Database (http://pivot.cos.com), which provides a researcher profile directory in the world mainly from universities and colleges. The final field survey instrument was distributed to the 2,919 potential survey participants in psychology. From November 7, 2016 to February 15, 2017, a total of 557 partial and full responses were received.
  • Weighting

    No weight method was used.
  • Technical Information

Response Rates: Through the four message distributions, 337 emails were bounced due to incorrect emails and spam filters, and only 2,582 potential participants actually received the messages with the survey link included in the messages. We initially received a total of 557 partial and full responses. Among those 557 initial responses, we removed any responses which have more than 10% of missing values, and this leads to a total of 397 valid responses (response rate: 15.38%=397/(2,919-337)).
  • Technical Information

Presence of Common Scales: This research employed 5-point Likert scales ranging from “Strongly Disagree”, “Disagree”, “Neither Disagree nor Agree”, “Agree”, and “Strongly Agree” for the most of items measuring psychologists’ diverse perceptions toward data sharing and open data badge adoption. Each construct was measured with multiple items.
