    Survey among CDU party members. Topics: Duration of membership (year of joining the party); how to contact the party; importance of selected motives for party membership; active party membership; expectations met; preferred sources of information on the CDU´s position (ranking); opinion on the CDU´s party course (to take up as many, even conflicting, interests as possible, not to endanger the party´s unity through discussions within the party, Christian view of the world and the human being as the sole basis for political action, concrete problem-solving more important than adherence to basic values, not following the spirit of the times despite the loss of votes); assessment of information on CDU party politics at local, state and federal level; opinion on a new CDU fundamental program; forms of personal participation in the party (e.g. sticking posters, distributing leaflets, etc.); reasons for involvement in the CDU; good reputation of CDU members in the place of residence (second opinion); invitation by the local party to actively participate in the party or in the election campaign; personal contact with the local party; consent to various statements on state and party (parties are reliable and responsible, no personal influence on the government, complexity of politics, participation in elections as a civic duty, no matter who governs in the federal government or the state); party affiliation CDU (personal, family and friends); left-right self-placement; left-right-placement of the party; satisfaction with the local or District association or need for improvement with regard to: organisation and implementation of the general meeting, discussion events with external speakers, social activities for party members and establishment of open forums for controversial discussions; importance of selected political tasks; solution competence of CDU/CSU, SPD, FDP, Grüne, PDS, Die Linke, DVU, REP and NPD, other parties, all parties or no party in selected policy fields (jobs, protection from crime, good economic situation, families, restriction of immigration of foreigners, further development of the EU and social security); opinion on selected proposals to reform the CDU (project-oriented cooperation for non-party members, direct election of candidates by party members, conversion of local associations into election campaign organisations by professional experts, amendment of statutes with quotas for women and younger candidates for positions); evaluation of selected coalition partners of the CDU in the federal government and in the state government; image of the CDU (credible, honest, competent, reliable, citizen-oriented, can solve problems, economically oriented, indecisive, Christian); applicability of political concepts to the CDU (e.g. solidarity, justice, tolerance, equality, etc.); opinion on selected political demands or statements (guaranteed minimum pension by the state plus self-provision, equality of same-sex couples and married couples, German language mendatory for everyone in Germany, Turkey´s rapid admission to the EU, more missions of the Federal Armed Forces in crisis areas, end of women´s employment after the birth of children, guaranteed right to a job by the state); presumed position of the CDU on the above-mentioned political demands; agreement with various statements on religion, church and the new Länder (´C´ in the CDU relict of old times, no consideration in the CDU of East German experiences, mentalities and biographies of the members, religion as the main reason for one´s own life, in future no differences between East and West Germany, people in West Germany or in the new Länder are still foreign). Demography: office or mandate in the CDU; formerly lived in the GDR; frequency of attending party events; gender; age (year of birth); federal state; description of place of residence; denomination; frequency of going to church; highest level of education; memberships (organisation, association, citizens´ initiative, other organisation/association, nowhere); trade union affiliation; church affiliation; marital status; children and number of children; children in the household; preferred ideal number of children; former professional activity; in relation to the former or current number of children in the GDR; the number of visits to party events; the number of children in the GDR; the number of children in the GDR; the number of children in the GDR; the number of children in the GDR; the number of children in the GDR; the number of children in the GDR.
