  • Abstract

    Attitudes of companies towards investing activities. Topics: investing activities of the company in the own country in 2017; importance of each of the following obstacles to investments in the own country: weak demand, cost or availability of external financing, uncertain economic outlook, labour costs, availability of adequate skills in the labour market, stability in tax legislation, complexity of tax rules; importance of each of the following obstacles to investments in the own country: administrative costs of starting a business, other administrative burdens, building permits and other authorisations, stability in legislation concerning products or services, labour regulation, labour conflict resolution, length of legal proceedings; impact of reforms in the business sector in the own country in the last two years; issues having impact on the company’s investment strategy. Demography: information about the company: number of employees, year of company establishment; expected turnover in 2017; development of turnover since January 2016 (in percent); expected total investment in 2017; share of turnover from 2016 used for investments (in percent); share of turnover from 2016 used for selected investments (in percent): buildings (incl. machinery and equipment), research and development (incl. software and intellectual property rights), organisational structure (incl. design and training), other; development of total investment compared to 2016; activities of the company in the following locations in the last two years: own country, other EU countries using the euro, other EU countries not using the euro, other developed countries, emerging economies, other; type of company. Additionally coded was: respondent ID; country; NACE-Code; nation group; weighting factor.
