Abstract
The German Ageing Survey (DEAS) is a longitudinal survey for the analysis of life situations and biographies of people in the second half of their lives. The data is based on nationally representative surveying (cross-sectional and longitudinal) of some thousand participants from the age of 40 onwards.
The first base sample was drawn and surveyed in 1996, new base samples were added in 2002, 2008 and 2014. Additionally, in the years 2002, 2008, 2011, 2014 and 2017 previous participants have been re-surveyed (panel).In 2017, as in the previous survey years, the following topics have been conducted:

- Living Arrangements and Mobility
- Economic Status and Saving
- Social and Financial Support

- Attitudes, Norms, Values and Images of Old Age
Panel Sample (n=6626): repeated survey of participants from the previous base samples.
