    The citizen survey ´Quality of life of the citizens of the City of Luxembourg´ is part of an overall project which was carried out on behalf of the City of Luxembourg. The aim of the survey is to show the strengths and weaknesses of the urban living space from the point of view of the people living in the city. A particular focus of the study is on the living environment, the family and care situation and the social relationships between the residents. The findings on living and housing conditions obtained in this way form an important information basis for a social plan to be drawn up for the City of Luxembourg. Topics: 1. Housing, residential environment and residential mobility: type of residential building (single or multiple dwelling, detached, semi-detached, terraced); number of dwellings; ownership status; main tenant or subtenant; size of dwelling; number of rooms; areas of additional housing: Balcony, terrace, garden; housing satisfaction; acceptable financial burden of housing costs; opinion on living in the city of Luxembourg (finding good and affordable housing in the city of Luxembourg and in one´s own district, at home in the residential environment (belonging); duration of living: always lived in the city of Luxembourg; previously lived in another municipality in Luxembourg or abroad; country; current residence since moving to the city of Luxembourg; previous residence in the same or another district; number of moves within the city of Luxembourg; removal plans; move date; planned move within the city, to another municipality in Luxembourg or abroad; country of planned move; reasons for planned move; importance of various aspects for the new living environment. 2. Participation and integration: satisfaction with personal contact in the neighbourhood; social cohesion, trust and attachment: relationship with people in the immediate living environment (collective efficacy); contact with people in general (economisation of the social); interculturality and urban diversity: assessment of the relationship between the inhabitants of the city of Luxembourg; opinion on the issue of the growing number of people of different nationalities in the city of Luxembourg; friends of different nationalities. 3. Volunteering and local social capital: voluntary work; areas of voluntary work; voluntary work in the neighbourhood or outside; friends in the area of voluntary work; participation in neighbourhood initiatives, citizens´ initiatives, etc.; purpose of these meetings mentioned; frequency of meetings; use of the Internet for local information; offers used mentioned. 4. Children, family and care: children; number of children; year of birth of children; children under 13 years in the household; number of children under 13 years in the household; care situation of children under 13 years (only respondents with children under 13 years): care of children also of other persons; carers; frequency of care by other persons; attendance at care facilities; name and location of care facility; good accessibility of care facility; frequency of visits to facilities; again all: compatibility of family and career; assessment of the care situation in the city of Luxembourg; satisfaction with the care situation for different age groups in the residential environment. 5. Life satisfaction, future assessment, value retention: general satisfaction with life; satisfaction with various infrastructure facilities in the residential environment; satisfaction with the Bierger Center with regard to services, opening hours and civic friendliness; assessment of personal future; importance of different values and life goals. Demography: sex; age (year of birth); marital status; partner; household size; surveyed for the respondent and his partner: highest school leaving certificate; employment status; full-time or part-time employment; other employment; previous employment; national or international civil servant; occupational status; Luxembourg nationality; nationality; birth in Luxembourg or abroad; country of birth (migration background); preferred language in public space (multiglossie); language spoken predominantly at home (linguistic dominance in the private sphere); religious denomination; affiliation with the religious denomination; self-assessment of religiousness; number of persons contributing to household income; net household income. Additionally coded: ID; original ID; block number; interview language (German, French and Portuguese).
