    Structure of the farms and current situation of farmers in the Eifelkreis Bitburg-Prüm. Family, community and leisure. Future perspectives, evaluations and expectations. Topics: 1. Profession farmer: duration of activity in agriculture (year); reasons for the profession decision farmer; renewed decision for this profession; type of vocational training; place of training; evaluation of training with a view to preparation in various areas (e.g. arable farming, livestock farming, marketing of agricultural products, etc.).); weekly working time (hours per week, days per week); percentage of weekly working time for various activities (classical agricultural activities in the field or in the stable, accounting, administration, management, work in other sectors such as renewable energy and direct marketing, training, professional policy/interest representation, others). 2. Operation: location of farm (postcode); location of farm in town or outside town; year of establishment; main or secondary occupation of farm; type of farm management (exclusively conventional, exclusively organic, mixed form); respondent is farm manager on the farm; duration of activity as farm manager (since the year); Manager by taking over the farm from family members or from third parties, founding a civil partnership with family members or with third parties); planned period for managing the farm as a manager (until reaching retirement age, beyond that, handover to a successor before reaching retirement age); one or more managers; number of managers; employees: number of full-time employees, part-time employees, temporary staff and trainees in total, including family members, including those with agricultural training; family relationship with family members working on the farm; cooperation with other farms realised or planned; type of cooperation (e.g. inter-company cooperation, fractional community, etc.); evaluation of the current economic situation of the holding; size and type of farming (detailed information on animal husbandry (type and number of animals kept), land use (plant species, respective cultivated areas and total areas in ha, thereof leased land in ha), renewable energy (type of energy in kW) as well as other branches of the holding (e.g. cheese dairy, holiday apartments, etc.); development of the economic situation of the holding over the last five years. 3. Family, community and leisure: children; number of children; marital status; steady partner; partner comes from agriculture; partner´s place of origin (postcode); partner´s cooperation on the farm; partner´s full-time or part-time gainful employment outside the farm; opinion on difficulties in finding a partner due to professional activity; respondent lives on the farm; other persons living on the farm (relatives and other persons); place of residence of friends and acquaintances; importance of close family members, relatives, friends and neighbours; close relationship with various family members; family members with whom there is no contact; sufficient time for family, friends and hobbies; interests and leisure activities; volunteer work; areas of current or former voluntary work; place of voluntary work; assessment of community life in the village; frequency and type of complaints from the population (odour nuisance, noise nuisance, because of allegedly inappropriate animal husbandry, other complaints -open); increase in complaints in recent years. 4. Future prospects, assessments and expectations: planned changes on the farm over the next five to ten years; nature of the planned changes in different areas of the farm (expansion, restructuring or closure); concrete plans for the farm after retirement; general assessment of the agricultural policy of the Rhineland-Palatinate Land Government, the Federal Government and the EU); evaluation of various (agricultural) policy programmes and measures; importance of a good Internet connection for farm work; influx of refugees and migrants as an opportunity to secure a sustainable workforce in agriculture; problematic situation for the respondent and his farm under various factors and general conditions (e.g. family income, economic situation, prices for agricultural products, etc.); assessment of the future prospects of agriculture in the Eifel; satisfaction with working as a farmer; life satisfaction in the Eifel as a whole; effects of various factors on the quality of life (e.g. organisation of working time on the farm, distribution of tasks on the farm, etc.). 5. Farmers´ association: membership in the district farmers´ association; evaluation of the work of the district farmers´ association as a whole; positive and negative aspects of the work of the district farmers´ association (open); demand for further framework agreements; type of these further framework agreements (open); sufficient further training offers of the farmers´ association and other institutions; suggestions for improvement in further training offers (open). Demography: sex; age (year of birth); highest general school leaving certificate; party preference (Sunday question). Additionally coded: serial number; questionnaire number; record ID; comments and suggestions on the topic (open).
