Germany (DE)Federal Republic of Germany and earlier federal territory; New countries and Berlin east; (Entire) Germany
For the first postwar years only a few statistic documents are available. Therefore, the data-tables usually begin with the year 1950. Time series from 1950 to 1959: changes in the territorial boarders, because data of the Saarland and/or Berlin (west) often could not be included into the federal sum for methodical or technical reasons (see annotations in the data-tables). The notes in the individual tables give information about the following areas: 1947 to 1959: Earlier federal territory with/without Saarland; with/without Berlin; from 1960: Earlier federal territory incl. Saarland and Berlin (west); from 1947 new countries and Berlin (east); from 1991: Germany.
