The aim of the investigation is to answer, which factors for Bavarian’s dynamic industrialisation were of importance. The work is essentially based on the evaluation of different statiscical sources, notably of the statistic yearbooks of German municipalities (Statistischen Jahrbücher deutscher Gemeinden ) as well as the operational data provided by the enterprises for the investigation. The development of the 13 most important Bavarian industrial cities in comparison to each other and to Bavaria at large is analysed. Thereby the economic sectors, the industy all in all as well as the individual industrial groups are compared.
