AbstractThe industrializationprozess of the german city Darmstatd from 1815 to 1900 is described. Uecker defines the term industrialization as the diffusion of industrial mass products. The available operating range of the town – the contact of the economic area of Darmstadt with the sorrounding via the traffic system and the alternately incorporation of central markets and cities – is in close relationship to this diffusion-process.
