    The media analysis data was collected for commercial purposes. They are used in The media analysis data was collected for commercial purposes. They are used in media planning as well as in advertising planning for the different media types (radio, press media, TV, posters and since 2010 also online). They are cross-sections that are strung together for one year. In order to make the data accessible for scientific use, from 2006 onwards the data sets of the individual years were harmonised into a longitudinal data set from 1954 onwards through several third-party funded projects, first by the Media Science Teaching and Research Centre (MLFZ) in Cologne and then at Heinrich Heine University (HHU). The aim is to make the data source of the Media Analysis accessible for research on social and media change in the Federal Republic of Germany by harmonising the individual cross-sections. The present study is a cumulation of the years 2010-2015.
