  • Abstract

    EU development aid and access to energy. Topics: importance of each of the following aspects with regard to overcoming poverty in developing countries: access to food, democracy, access to energy, peace and security, access to safe drinking water and toilets, access to health care, access to education; most problematic fields of daily life due to lack of access to energy; preferred main source of energy for developing countries; attitude towards the following statements on EU development aid: EU should promote access to energy, increase the share of budget allocated to get access to energy, benefit for the EU from promoting access to energy. Demography: age; sex; nationality; age at end of education; occupation; professional position; region; type of community; own a mobile phone and fixed (landline) phone; household composition and household size. Additionally coded was: respondent ID; language of the interview; type of phone line; country; date of interview; time of the beginning of the interview; duration of the interview; weighting factor.

The survey covers the national population of citizens (in these countries) as well as the population of citizens of all the European Union Member States that are residents in these countries and have a sufficient command of the national languages to answer the questionnaire.
