The first document of the FAIR4Rs working group for community review across RDA, FORCE11 and the Research Software Alliance (ReSA) has been published. This document presents the FAIR principles for Research Software. It is available for community input via RDA. To improve the FAIRness of research software, the FAIR for Research Software (FAIR4RS) Working Group has sought to understand how to apply the FAIR Guiding Principles for scientific data management and stewardship to research software, bringing together new and existing community efforts. Many of the FAIR Guiding Principles can be directly applied to research software by treating software and data as similar digital research objects. More details are available at: https://www.rd-alliance.org/group/fair-research-software-fair4rs-wg/outcomes/fair-principles-research-software-fair4rs. The FAIR4RS working group is pleased to send feedback on this document as the final step in finalizing the principles. It will remain open for the community to comment on from 11 June 2021 until 11 July 2021. Any further information will be sent via the FAIR4RS mailing list (RDA FAIR4RS WG posts), which you are encouraged to join.
